Stop buying Blackberry Z10 expert warns Nigerians

A Lagos-based digital marketing expert, Mr. Ikechukwu Roland, has urged small and medium scale establishment owners to be open minded in learning about digital marketing.

In an exclusive interview with The City Reports published today, Mr. Roland said the future of business success is hidden on the social media platform and charged the government to put mechanisms in place aimed at enlightening the business people on the potentials of such on-going social revolution.

He equally charged digital marketing companies on the need to do more by informing, developing and creating the desired interest of the social marketing for their clients.

“Digital marketing companies need to teach the client on social media relevance and also help them develop interest in using the platform. I know the awareness is growing but it is not that strong yet”, he stressed.

Mr. Roland added that digital marketing is a revolution of the traditional marketing businesses and that its revolutionizing everything.

According to him, the revolution has come to stay and would continue to shape businesses for century to come.

He urged business operators in Nigeria to embrace digital marketing in order for them to remain relevant globally.

In his word, “no man can control the social media. I can go on tweeter and say my mind. The terrain is uncontrolled. But there are numerous business opportunities on the platform as well.

Similarly, the digital guru lashed Nigerians on their insatiable appetite for Blackberry Z10 phones saying the American company is exploitative.

“The truth is in terms of investment put into designing the phone, its fine from a financial point of view but from a sentimental point of view, I don’t think the phone is actually worth the price. Reasons being that whatever technology they think they have is four years too late. Besides, the company is not doing anything to better the lives of Nigerians. Americans were put into consideration whenever a company is creating any product and ensure the product can indeed improve their lives.

He however tasked the Nigerian regulatory body to check telephony devices with a view to check if they can improve our own lives too and also to prevent exploitation.

He warned Nigerians to desist from buying Z10 as Techno android phones have most of the features on the expensive blackberry.

Nigerians were one of the highest buyers. Americans don’t buy blackberry. For two straight years, blackberry sales have being on the decline in America. They have been buying iphones and apple products.

On the information’s minister, Labaran Maku’s comment  that government is making frantic effort in initiating laws that will cage the social media, Roland warned the government not to attempt such plans.

He said in Syria, the government monitors bites and traffics of internet users but that Nigerians are not as conservatives as the Arabians and that it would be suicidal if the government should weigh such option.
